Roses in the Kitchen
Using roses in your kitchen is possible only if you do not spray for pests. So, one of the benefits of growing roses organically is being able to mix roses in a vegetable garden or an herb garden. Many china and tea roses look great in an herb garden, and you can eat parts of them too!
To give a salad some color, mix in some rose petals.
After the last blooms in the fall, do not cut off the spent blooms, just pull the petals off of the rose hip and let it ripen. When the hip turns red or orange, it is ripe. Rose hips are one of the greatest sources of vitamin C. You can remove the seeds and grind up the hips to add to your favorite tea blend.
